Sorry I missed you for 21+ with my lateness, but I hope you enjoyed it.
AUSA was definitely a make-your-own-fun con, unfortunately. I’m not keen on the location either (3 hours lost on the way down and a 45 minutes detour going home, YEAH), and as far as the changing demographic… Well, a few friends and I were standing near the lobby elevators and a bucnh of narutard children were yelling/screaming/shrieking and jumping up and down there, and a couple of old ladies were there waiting for the elevators too. Yeah. They were SCARED. At first they were looking at them with disbelief and disgust, and the louder the kids got, the more they started clawing at the elevator doors trying to get away. -_-; You should consider Providence Anime Conference in ‘08.

Love the fact that you had our phone conversation at the very beginning of the podcast. Loved the guys description of what he would do to other guys that would sleep with his ex girlfriend. Enjoying the fact that you are interviewing the photographers. Cosmos sounds like she was having fun. Loved the segment with Arnold, Rick, Rob, and I were laughing pretty loud. I hated those elevators, they need a better hotel. The outtakes are a nice touch to end the podcast. I really enjoyed this podcast, keep up the great work.

There were several occasions where con goers were way to loud and people walking by held close to their purse or bag.
Funny, actually on the last day of the con, I came out of my room in street clothes, and this older couple (obviously not there for Anime USA) were talking amongst themselves, and I heard the husband say something to the effect of ‘He looks normal lets ask him.” And ask me he did. This is the conversation to the best of my recollection
Guy: “So what exactly is the point of this? What is the goal?”
Me: “Excuse me? Do you mean the Convention?”
Guy: “Yeah, it’s a meeting right? Don’t you gather to accomplish some sort of task?”
Me: “Not exactly”
(I explain some cultural things, stuff about the panels, dealers room, etc. He listens intently nodding his head)
Guy to Wife: “See honey, I told you.”
The guy thanked me, and I felt good about effectively explaining the phenomenon of the convention to someone who didn’t understand it
And just as we are all getting on the elevator, a
Screaming 14 year old narutard runs by with a bucket of ice.
I shake my head and the doors closed.

I would like to mention that I smelled just fine even though I was the guy playing Pop’n.
Also, the video of that Pop’n Music session is on Youtube. That way I can embarass myself in every media format possible!
