Wow, this came out of left field.
Geneon, one of the more acceptable U.S. anime distributors is cutting the rope on their sales and distribution as of tomorrow.
Short abridged version: ADV was going to take over U.S. sales and distribution on October 1, as a result Geneon laid of a portion of it’s staff and readied its U.S. offices to transition out of the distribution game. Last minute ADV pulled the plug, and as a result, Geneon is hurting and has stopped sales, marketing, and distribution for the moment.
Sorry to those that were planning on buying Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. And what of the fates of Shounen Onmyouji or the second season of Black Lagoon?
Way to go ADV. This is no good. No good at all.
